Photo Special train excursion between Adams, MA & North Adams on the BSRM's Hoosac Valley Line

TRIP UPDATE: BSRM has notified us that due to mechanical problems, SW-8 8619 will not be available on July 30. Although we are not able to offer the interlocking schedule of two trains that was previously advertised, we are pleased to offer this revised event.

Join members and friends of Mass Bay RRE for a morning of train riding, watching and photography. For this special event, the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum will be operating RDC 6126over the full length of its Hoosac Valley line between Adams and North Adams, Massachusetts. Along the way we will make multiple stops for photo runbys at various locations.

Our train, departing from Adams Station at 10:00 AM, will feature Berkshire Scenic’s Budd Rail Diesel Car No. 6126. Built in 1955 for the Boston & Maine Railroad, RDC 6126 was part of the largest single order for RDC's placed with the Budd Company. 6126 worked for the B&M until 1976 when it was transferred to the MBTA and continued to serve the Boston Metropolitan commuter area. In 1989, 6126 was sold into private ownership and worked in tourist service on the Cape Cod Railroad and later in Maine on the Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad. It was purchased by the Berkshire Scenic in 2015 for use on the new Hoosac Valley service between Adams and North Adams.

Our capacity for this event is limited to just 80 passengers. Mass Bay RRE members receive discounted fares. See our web site for complete details and membership information. (Mass Bay RRE membership is not necessary to ride this trip.)

This event operates ONE DAY ONLY, rain or shine. All sales are final and tickets are not refundable. Alcoholic beverages and smoking will not be permitted aboard this train. Tickets will be mailed to you about a week prior to the trip. Directions to the departure location in Adams will be sent with your tickets.

MAIL ORDER: There is no mail order flyer for this event. If you cannot order on line, please call to place your order by phone.

BY TELEPHONE: Telephone orders are accepted at 978-470-2066, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards. We can also take orders to be paid by check, so long as payment is mailed within 3 business days of placing the order.
