The Day Cape Codder

While the state-owned track was no match for New Haven’s 70-mph, CTC-signaled “Cape Main” of the 1950s, we traveled faster than our 1980 Seabreeze Limited, which crawled at 10 mph from Middleboro to Wareham! Beside the SEMASS yard, we stopped to couple MC GP9 2009 to the east end of our train, in a pull-pull setup. At Middleboro, we waited for MBTA #1001 to move off the platform, then picked up about 50 riders, many of whom had come down from Boston on #1001.
