The Housatonic Flyer pauses for a photo stop at West Cornwall, CT.

The Housatonic Flyer

Too soon, though, it was time to leave, and the Flyer pulled north out of Danbury about 2:40 PM. The weather had been slowly deteriorating, with a threat of rain, though most ofthe showers held off until late in the day. We passed Gaylordsville at speed, leaving the town to perhaps several more decades of "railroad isolation." At West Cornwall, we made a true "photo stop" in the old tradition - posing our train on the curve so riders could walk ahead and take their choice of static pictures. (There isn't room at West Cornwall to stage a true runby.)
